The 3rd annual Save the Girls designer bra show was held yesterday afternoon at Pnk Ultra Lounge inside Pacific Place in Seattle. The event was put on by Little Black Dress Events and Productions. This show was put on for Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation. For those of you who don’t know who they are, they are an organization supporting breast cancer research, education and various support services. Since its inception in 1982, Komen worldwide has raised over $1 billion for research, education and health services making it the largest breast cancer charity in the world. Today, the Komen organization is recognized as the leading catalyst in the fight against breast cancer with more than 100,000 volunteers working in a network of over 125 U.S. and international affiliates.
There were cupcakes from New York Cupcakes, wine from Girly Girl Wines, drinks froms Sparkling ICE, an amazing cake from Carly’s Custom Cakes, and featured drinks from Pnk. The fashion show itself featured awesome custom designed bras on the runway, shoes from Report, clothes from Opal Boutique, Tangerine, Etcetera, White House Black Market, Lululemon, & jewelry from Stella & Dot. The event was hosted by Brooke & Jubal of Movin 92.5. Many of the bra designers were in attendance, as well as Girl Power Hour Treacle from blogger The Lingerie Addict. Michelle Millman was also a speaker, from Kiro 7. She more about her story here. We also had two survivors in attendance who partook in the runway! There were awesome raffle items and swag bags too!
I donated my photography to this event because breast cancer is near to me, in both my mom and mother-in-law as they are survivors. I do not personally care for the color pink, but I wear my pink breast cancer ribbon with pride, hoping one day to find a cure for cancer.
