Twilight Road Trip Part I | Forks & La Push, WA

Over the holiday weekend we decided to visit Forks & La Push, home of the Twilight book series. On what turned out to be a very rainy typical WA day, we made our way down through Tacoma and over the Narrows Bridge to Port Angeles. This is where Bella and Edward went on their first date, and where Bella went to shop and go to the movies.

We then headed into Forks. Almost every shop/store had some sort of Twilight sign in their window. We went shopping at the Thriftway where Bella did her shopping, which is also right next to the outdoors store she worked in. We had lunch at a pizza joint, where they had pamphlets at the table explaining all about Quileyute history and facts.
Next we ventured to a photo-op of me with Bella’s truck, before cruising by the Swan household (where people actually live) and the hospital where Dr. Cullen worked.

We passed the “no vampires” treaty-line into La Push (which is marked with a sign), and drove down to the beach. We braved the weather for a peak at St. James Island before heading back into town. The surf was up, so there were some adventurous people parked by first, second, and third beaches.

We then left vampire/werewolf territory to head into the Hoh rain forest. It was raining. And very green. We even saw a deer. Our drive took us down to Olympia, then back on I-5 heading home. Part II will take place when it warms up a bit, and we’ll head to all the locations in OR where the movies were shot!
